Meet The Team

As Nouveau’s General Manager, I look after our fabulous team as well as helping to deliver courses and online training content within Nouveau Training Academy. Having worked at Nouveau Group for seven years, I bring knowledge and experience within my role.

I have run weekly dance classes for over 6 years, with attendees commenting on my passion and enthusiasm for dance and fitness.  Clients return each week to develop their own skills and abilities, whilst enjoying the fun and social side of the classes. Comfort and happiness keep the members coming back each week, something I am extremely proud of.

I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2003 with a degree in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health and worked as a gym instructor in-between studies where I completed an exercise to music qualification. After graduating I worked for County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust in Public Health for 9 years promoting health and wellbeing, where I undertook a Diploma in Nutrition.  I have been teaching fitness classes for 15 years in a variety of settings and undertook a Pre and Post natal level 3 and Mat Pilates Level 3 in 2014.

I have a passion and enthusiasm for supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing which is why I wanted to join Nouveau Wellbeing and support the company to continue to achieve.

I graduated from Teesside University with a BA Hons Dance Degree earlier this year. During my time there I took part in many performances and taught at a range of schools.

I joined the Nouveau Wellbeing as a Practitioner after graduating from University and have progressed to Senior Practitioner. I have gone on to complete fitness industry qualifications and develop my teaching focusing particularly working with pre-school children and older adults.

I graduated from Newcastle College in 2013 with a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Dance. During this time I completed a Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification which began my journey into the fitness industry. After graduating I completed various fitness qualifications including Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2014 and Classical Pilates teacher in 2016.

Whilst working in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and Instructor I also danced professionally in a variety of platforms in the UK. I have taught dance for Durham County Council New College Durham and in a range of schools.

I am excited to be a part of Nouveau Wellbeing as such a successful company and to work alongside some fantastic practitioners.

From a young age I have trained in various styles of dancing and theatre which has lead me to go on and be a qualified professional dancer performing with various different dance company’s around the UK. As well as performing I teach and choreograph in a community and professional setting, which has lead me onto working with Nouveau Wellbeing, and really focusing on sharing my experiences with the community, working with all abilities and ages.

I wanted to work with the company as I’m very interested in Nouveau’s ethos and giving something back to the communities within the North East, as well as providing a friendly and safe atmosphere to learn new skills and meet new people.

I am a Urban Dance Instructor for Nouveau Wellbeing. I have gained much experience from around the UK and have trained with different break-dancers from around the world. My most recent encounter abroad has been in Vancouver, Canada where I met some break-dancers and joined in on their training sessions for a month.

Breakdancing is a great way to keep extremely fit and socialise. There are always new moves to learn and challenges to be faced but from experience the hard work and training pays off big time. My favourite break move would probably be the windmill as it looks great and can be combined with other power moves with good training.

I began dance classes at a young age under the instruction of Bethany, the founder and CEO of Nouveau. Across the 10 years I danced with Bethany I was able to see the founding of Nouveau and the company’s development from a simple dance class to a successful social enterprise.

I recently graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and have begun to assist Nouveau as a Research Assistant in collating research on the health benefits of their classes and the importance of exercise.

I am a qualified nutritionist, tutor and chef with over 30 years of experience in the food industry.
I began my journey straight from leaving school, when I worked in hospital kitchens training to be a chef. From there I moved to London and became a licensee, running a pub restaurant for a number of years. After deciding to move back to the North East, I began running a school kitchen.

Knowing I had practical experience behind me, I made the decision to pursue a more academic career and began studying for my BSc degree in Food Science and Nutrition at Northumbria University. Once qualified, I also studied for and obtained my PGCE from Sunderland University.

Mt role within the Nouveau Wellbeing team involves delivering practical healthy eating sessions within the local community. These courses are aimed at educating people on how to make healthy lifestyle choices, while cooking on a budget.

I joined Nouveau Wellbeing several years ago as a Finance & Admin Assistant and have seen the enterprise grow from strength to strength. I am based at the Head Office in Billingham and enjoy hearing about the fantastic work the Practitioners are doing within local communities when they pop in to the office each week.

Working in such a community focused organisation inspires me daily and has led me to develop my own personal interest in British Sign Language and Counselling.
